Simple Woman's Daybook

For today, Monday, March 16, 2009

Outside my window...it is sunny and in the 40s, supposed to be in the 50s this afternoon

I am thinking...about my Uncle Ted who I have mentioned before. He has decided to discontinue his chemo because of all the side effects.

I am thankful for...my family

From the kitchen...so glad to have my stove working again! We will be having spaghetti and meatballs, chicken pot pie, and probably pizza this week.

I am creating...Tucker and I made a St Patrick's craft Saturday and plan to do more tomorrow. Planning some Spring crafts for the end of the week.

I am wearing...jeans and a black long-sleeve shirt

I am reading...still reading Around The World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne for Classics Carnival on April 7. I am loving it! With Tucker we read assorted picture books, as well as The Clubhouse and Whistle for Willie, both by Ezra Jack Keats in honor of his birthday on March 11th, Don't forget to check out my blog tomorrow for the March segment of Kids Picks.

I am hoping...to hear something about the job this week. I have an interview at another nursing home tomorrow.

I am hearing...the fish tanks and "The View"

Around the house...it's actually pretty neat, just needs to be vacuumed...laundry to be folded, and one more load to be washed.

One of my favorite things...s'mores

A few plans for the rest of the week...a job interview at another nursing home tomorrow...working on the PTO fundraiser...reunion show committee meeting tomorrow night...Cub Scout Pack meeting Thurs night...a home visit tomorrow...another home visit later in the week...handing out Dr Seuss stuff for the postponed Read-Aloud Day at Tucker's school on Thurs...ice skating with Cub Scouts on Sat...Tucker's friend William is sleeping over after the ice skating...Cub Scout den meeting on Sun.

A picture thought...
After Tucker got his hair cut on Saturday I told him we could go out to lunch. He wanted to get popcorn chicken at KFC. He was kind of playing with the food and I asked him if he was hungry. He said "my tooth hurts" and reached in his mouth and pulled out his tooth! (yes it was loose and we knew it would more than likely be next to come out!) So he handed it to me and went about eating. (thankfully I happened to have a plastic bag in my purse to put it in!) I was going to call Michael and tell him and he didn't want me to; he wanted it to be a "surprise". I asked him "what if Daddy and The Tooth Fairy meet in the driveway and Daddy doesn't know why she's there?" His response: "she comes at midnight and Daddy will be home by then". (It's the space on the bottom!)
