Random Thought-Daybook Style

Peace and quiet...what I'm enjoying while Tucker is at baseball practice. Michael is helping to coach again this year so I just meet him at the school by 5 and then I get 2 1/2 hours of glorious time to myself! Crazy isn't it?

Frustrated...by my recent bloodwork which showed that my potassium is again lower than the doctor feels comfortable with so they encouraged me to eat potassium-rich foods; I'm already eating a banana and an orange everyday. I see my doctor on Thursday so I'm hoping he'll take me off the blood pressure med that seems to be causing this! He'll also go over the EEG results with me, too.

Planning...Tucker's birthday sleepover party for next weekend. We got the games we ordered from Oriental Trading ( a roulette-type one and a plinko one) and I will also do a game with balloons that they stomp on and they get the prize that's inside (I'm not sure if that makes sense or not but I don't feel like fixing it!)

Just finished...reading two good books: the first, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, took me a little bit to get into but is basically about a young boy who's grandfather tells him stories about these kids who can do strange things. The boy thinks they are only made up but then finds out they are real. I liked the old pictures in the book, too. The second was Lone Wolf by Jodi Picoult. This one was about a man who gets into a car accident with his daughter and delves into the question of when is life over, when do you take someone off life-support, if ever? All really interesting issues to ponder.

Now I'm reading...Holes by Louis Sachar and listening to Then Came You by Jennifer Weiner. Tucker is reading Holes with his class and really likes it so he recommended I read it. I'll probably finish it tonight. Then Came You is about 3 women who play a part in a surrogate pregnancy (the egg donor, the surrogate, and the new mom (for lack of a better term) ). I'm not far into it yet but it seems pretty good so far. Tucker and I are reading The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg and really enjoying it.

I'm watching...I missed the premiere of Dancing with the Stars because the UConn women were playing but I will be watching that. Also watching Amazing Race and Survivor of course. Totally addicted to The Big Bang Theory re-runs as well as watching Wonder Years on Netflix.

We are busy...running to sports practices and games! Tucker has baseball practices Tues and Thurs nights and although he doesn't have a soccer game this week, he had two last week and will have two next week! We're also going to my cousin's house on Sunday to celebrate her twins 3rd birthdays!

The dishes...are calling my name and I should get them into the dishwasher before Michael and Tucker get home and think all I did for 2 hours was read blogs and go on Facebook ;) You won't tell, will you?!? lol

Staying Up Late

-I finally got into the neurologist this past week and he ordered a sleep-deprived EEG for tomorrow morning. Which means I can only get 3-4 hours of sleep tonight. I had originally planned on staying up until 2 but knew I would never make it. So I'm staying up until midnight and then getting up at 4 (the test is at 7:30). It's 10:30 now so I'm getting there. For someone who normally in in bed by 9:30, this is hard!!!!
-The neurologist turned out to be a really great guy. He thinks the issues I had were probably caused by a migraine (which I have had for almost 20 years) and that I may need to go on a preventative med. right now I'm watching The Wonder Years on Netflix and it's the one where Kevin;s grandfather gives him a puppy and they're playing "to every season, turn turn turn, etc" and it reminds me of my friend Michelle from high school because she thought it was only in the Time magazine commercial and not a real song. Yes it's the weird things I remember.
-For example, I figured out a resident of mine was the great-aunt of a friend of mine from high school because I knew his middle name was Manning. And he wasn't a particularly close friend but for some reason I remembered that. Strange things, I know.
-Tucker will be 10 on April 3rd which seems crazy to me! We're planning to have a sleepover with 7 boys which will be crazy I know. We're going with a carnival theme with games, tickets, and prizes. we've recruited our niece Cassandra to referee, I mean, help. I just ordered some games from Oriental Trading and am figuring out the logistics of the prizes, etc. It should be fun and it will be here before we know it!
-Well time to switch the laundry into the dryer (I can be productive while I'm staying up!)!
